Producers are creating a veritable Cuddy gantlet for ‘House‘ the cranky doctor and new boyfriend. Paula Marshall has just been cast as Lisa Cuddy’s sister , Lucinda.

Candice Bergen will also appear on ‘House’ in January as Cuddy’s mom, Arlene.

“Cuddy’s in a relationship now and the boyfriend’s meeting the family,” explained executive producer David Shore, who hinted at some secrecy around Lucinda’s presence, TV Guide reports.

Marshall has appeared on ‘Gary Unmarried’, ‘Californication’ and dozens of other shows over the past two decades – and, as a side note, has a bit of a reputation as a “show killer” due to her rotten luck in new series. She starred on six shows in eight years that were all canceled in less than a season, according to IMDB.com.

As for more family members showing up, such as House’s biological father, Shore says “that’s something we talk about on a regular basis.” But no plans are in the works.
