UPDATE: “DWTS” Season 11 winner Jennifer Grey underwent back surgery last week and is now home recuperating, reports People.

Grey, 50, is doing “great” after having an operation at the D.I.S.C. Sports and Spine Center in Marina del Rey, Calif., to repair a ruptured disc in her back, stemming from an injury she sustained on performance night of the “Dancing” finale.

All of that wear and tear during two grueling months of ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ has finally caught up with Season 11 winner Jennifer Grey.

The actress told ‘Access Hollywood’ that she will indeed need surgery to mend the ruptured disc she suffered during ‘Dancing’ rehearsals a few weeks ago, which almost caused her to bow out of the competition entirely. However, her rep, Heidi Schaeffer, tells Fancast, “Jennifer is going in for a consultation Wednesday. So far no surgery is scheduled.”

“I ruptured a disc, and I’m gonna go home today and I’m probably gonna have surgery this week or sometime next week,” Grey told ‘Access Hollywood’ on Tuesday.

She adds, however, that it’s not a major operation. “It’s just gonna be like a little surgery where they take out the ruptured disc thing, and you know, it won’t be a big deal,” she tells the show. “Compared to the other surgeries I had on my neck, my doctor says it won’t be a big deal. I’ll be home that night.”

When we caught up with the winner after the ‘DWTS’ season finale, she said she probably sustained the injury when she and partner Derek Hough were practicing “one of those slips or tricks or splits.” Adding with a laugh, “When you dance with a 25-year-old, it’s a risk you take.”
