Sarah Michelle Gellar is coming back to TV, and she will be back to kicking butt, to boot!
Gellar will star in (and co-executive produce) the hour-long thriller as a troubled young woman on the run from the mob, who goes into hiding by assuming the identity of her wealthy twin sister. But it’s double trouble for the “Ringer” once she learns there’s a bounty out on her sibling’s head as well.
For “Buffy” fans who’ve been patiently waiting for SMG’s long-coming return to the small screen, that news is twice as good.
The project is from “Supernatural” writer-producers Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder and is being produced by ABC Television Studios and CBS Television Studios.
This will be Gellar’s first television show since “Buffy” signed off in 2003.
