Actress Annie Ilonzeh is the first Angel to be cast in the pilot for ABC’s “Charlie’s Angels” reboot, Deadline reports.  Ilonzeh will be playing the character of Kate, who is described as “a very smart and very athletic ex-cop and a master of martial arts. She is the most serious of our 3 Angels but also knows how to let her hair down and have a great time.”

It is somewhat surprising that the beautiful but relatively inexperienced Ilonzeh, who currently plays Maya on “General Hospital” won the role.  “Charlie’s Angels” is one of the highest profile pilots of the season.  The roles of the Angels were among the most sought after in Hollywood. There has been much speculation about who would be cast, with many people assuming that the parts would go to well-known actresses.

Who Should Play The New Charlie’s Angels?

The 27 year old Ilonzeh has only been on the soap for a year.  She has also guest-starred on “Melrose Place” and “Entourage.”  Her GH character Maya, a doctor who is the great-granddaughter of a prominent business man, appeared primarily in medical scenes and made little impression on viewers until she recently got drunk and married a man in Las Vegas.  There is no word whether her character will be written off GH or recast if “Charlie’s Angels” is picked up as a series.

What do you think of Ilonzeh for the first pick? Who else would you like to see join the cast?
