We reported earlier this week that “The Bachelor” Brad Womack had some shady dealings with the law back in his day (i.e. public intoxication, forging a driver’s license, and writing a bad check).

In an interview with People, Brad admits that the allegations are true, but that there’s no need to question his post-counseled newly improved self.

“I’m sure I wouldn’t be the first to admit that I had a couple of missteps when I was a teenager – some 20 odd years ago. Some of the claims have been blown out of proportion, but I took responsibility for my actions and took immediate measures to remedy the situation,” Womack says.

The 38-year-old also adds: “It was just part of my growing pains back when I was still young and naïve. You learn from your experiences good and bad – and you move on. It ultimately builds character.”

Heck, we don’t care if you broke the law on minor offenses, Brad; we’re just sorry that you used your stepfather’s last name—”Pickelsimer”—for a spell!
