“Saturday Night Live” wants to Friend Mark Zuckerberg. The Facebook founder is allegedly being lured by SNL to appear in a cameo alongside Jesse Eisenberg, this weekend’s host and the Oscar nominee who played Zuckerberg in “The Social Network.”
Page Six reports Zuckerberg — who previously claimed he was misportrayed in the film — has expressed interest in appearing on SNL to “show he has a sense of humor.”
A source tell Page Six the film’s producer, Scott Rudin, is “hellbent” on winning Best Picture at this year’s Oscars, and is “doing everything to campaign,” including landing Eisenberg the coveted hosting gig. “Getting Eisenberg to host ‘SNL’ in itself is a coup, but to get Zuckerberg up there next to him is an even bigger achievement,” the source says.
SNL has not confirmed approaching Zuckerberg. But hey, if they don’t get him, Andy Samberg can always fill in, right?
