Demi Lovato Out Of Rehab, Not Rushing Back To Work

Actress and singer Demi Lovato has left rehab after a three-month stay in a suburban Illinois facility. After the Disney favorite, 18, was spotted in Santa Monica, a source sounding awfully like a publicist speaking off the record told People magazine Lovato “will continue to see doctors in L.A. who will help her work on the issues she confronted in treatment,. For now, she is getting back to her regular routine and spending time with her family and close friends. She is so grateful to all of her fans for their support, and looks forward to being able to talk to all of them very soon.”

Lovato entered rehab last November 1, dropping out of a tour with the Jonas Brothers after punching one of their backup dancers. She was reportedly suffering from “eating disorders, emotional issues, depression and cutting.” According to the New York Post, a source said, “Despite rumors, Demi wasn’t in rehab for drugs or alcohol. She was there for an eating disorder that was compounded by emotional and depression issues. The incident with the dancer was the catalyst. Demi realized she had a problem she had to fix, and the problem was how she was handling stress. It was manifesting itself in odd behavior and an eating disorder. She also has had cutting issues in the past. She decided enough was enough and she needed help.”

As for work, Lovato is content to wait till she is ready. But she already thanked her fans for their understanding. “I want to make sure my fans know how thankful I am for all their love, support and prayers during this difficult time,” Lovato wrote on her Facebook page. “Thank you for standing beside me through it all.”
