Handing in the nastier take was someone you probably forgot existed: former “Saturday Night Live” ditz Victoria Jackson, who is apparently now a tea party activist.
She wrote a column Monday for “WorldNetDaily” laced with homophobia, then went on Headline News’ “Showbiz Tonight” to make it worse.
In the column, which displayed an aggressive love of punctuation, Jackson reacted to the long anticipated kiss between two gay characters, Blaine (Darren Criss) and Kurt (Chris Colfer, whose moving Golden Globe acceptance speech was a rallying cry for the marginalized). “Did you see ‘Glee’ this week? Sickening!” Jackson wrote. “And, besides shoving the gay thing down our throats, they made a mockery of Christians – again! I wonder what their agenda is? Hey, producers of ‘Glee’ – what’s your agenda? One-way tolerance?”
On Headline News, Jackson said her opinion wasn’t what mattered. “What matters is what the Bible says. And I’m really concerned about our country because immorality is, well, let’s see: secular humanism rules the airwaves, and it’s stealing the innocence away from this whole generation of children. My daughter is a teenager and I can’t find any show that she can watch.”
Jackson was asked if she’s homophobic.
“That’s a cute little buzzword of the liberal agenda,” Jackson smirked. “Basically, the bible says that homosexuality is a sin.”
Jackson has also written about her perceived threats from the Muslim world and took her appearance as a launch pad to address her dislike of sex.
“They should have a celibacy campaign and tell kids that 50% of teenagers now have this new STD from oral sex, that’s what they should try to be doing instead of making kids gay,” Jackson said. “I just want to know why the liberals are pro-muslim and pro-gays. Muslims kill gays. That’s what’s confusing to me. And the only thing I can come up with is the Mulims hate God and the gays hate his word.”
