HBO’s ‘Game Change’: Harris to Play McCain, Harrelson Cast as Advisor

HBO is getting into the political “Game” — and now the major players are in place.

Ed Harris has been cast as John McCain in HBO’s “Game Change,” a film that will depict the senator’s failed 2008 presidential campaign.

Woody Harrelson has also joined the cast as Steve Schmidt, McCain’s campaign manager and senior advisor, according to The Wrap.

Julianne Moore was previously announced to play Sarah Palin, McCain’s game-changing running mate. After the casting news, when everyone wondered why Tina Fey wasn’t cast in the role, Palin joked that she was pleased to “create jobs” for actresses to play her.
