It doesn’t seem as if Kirstie Alley and George Lopez will be making up any time soon. The war of words between the insult-swapping stars rages on as Alley said, ‘No, Thanks!’ Friday to the late-night host’s apology for referring to her as a dancing pig.
Lopez ignited the feud Wednesday by taking a low blow at Alley, who made a surprisingly impressive debut on “Dancing with the Stars” Monday night, coming in second place on the leaderboard behind “Karate Kid” Ralph Macchio.
George made fun of Alley’s “Dancing” on “Lopez Tonight“: “She did a nice job, her little hooves tapping away,” Lopez said. “Before the show, she went to the market, and then she had roast beef and this is her going all the way home!” he added, before cutting to an image of a squealing pig from a GEICO commercial.
On Thursday, Lopez apologized–on Twitter–for joking about Alley’s weight.
“I misjudged the joke,” the comedian said. “No malice was intended and I apologize to Kirstie.”
Alley, who’s now 60 (!) and has long struggled with her weight, retorted in her own special way on Twitter, calling Lopez a “drunk.”
“Don’t worry about George’s comments,” Alley wrote Thursday. “Just remember what happens to the big bad, drunk woolf…falls in a boiling pot of vodka. Piggy laughs.”
The former “Fat Actress” then rejected Lopez’s apology on Friday, Tweeting this message:
“I don’t need or want ur apology…I want your kidney dude..on behalf of ur X and all the women uv insulted…give it back.” [Alley is referring to Lopez’s soon-to-be ex-wife Ann, who donated her kidney to the ailing comedian in 2005.]
Back to George, who offered a more sincere I’m sorry on “Access Hollywood” and even invited Alley on his show:
“[It was] poor judgment. As they say in my world of golf, ‘bad form on my part,'” Lopez said.
“I blame my Spanx for cutting off my circulation to my brain, and that’s all I’ll say about that,” the comedian added.
“I’ve apologized. I think she’s accepted my (?) apology, I wish that she had and that she would be guest on ‘Lopez Tonight,'” said Lopez. “I would love to have her on.”
Alley also appeared on “The Tonight Show” Thursday night, and although she made no mention of Lopez’s mean joke, she did explain why she finally agreed to go “Dancing”:
“They asked me to be on it about every season,” Alley said. “I was sort of examining myself, you know, where I was going for the rest of my life and things like that, and I thought, I’m either going to recoil and just sort of vanish, or I’m going to take it up a notch. So I thought, you know, I really wanna do that.”
