Donald Trump isn’t backing off the “birther” comments he made on “The View” last week – and now he’s saying Whoopi Goldberg’s notion that his stance has anything to do with race is “insulting.”
While appearing on the daytime lady chatfest Thursday, Trump argued that there was something on President Barack Obama’s birth certificate “that he doesn’t like,” which is why he hasn’t produced it.
Goldberg pronounced the insinuation that Obama wasn’t born in the United States “the biggest pile of dog mess I’ve heard in ages.”
She asked Trump if he raised the issue because Obama was black, “because I’ve never heard any white President asked to be shown the birth certificate.”

At the time, Trump said of course not – and he reiterated and strengthened his denial Monday on the friendly conservative confines of “Fox and Friends” (Trump is a Republican).
“I like Whoopi. I’ve always had a good relationship with Whoopi…but frankly, I mean, I think that’s insulting that she brings up–what does that have to do with race?” said Trump, who is mulling a presidential run.
He continued, saying people “asked John McCain for his birth certificate. They’ve asked others for their birth certificate. They asked Bush for his birth certificate, by the way…and they would ask me for my birth certificate.”
Trump said he was “really concerned” that Obama might not have been born in the U.S.
