The NBA is getting into the reality TV business by way of Lakers baller Lamar Odom. It was revealed at the Reality Rocks Expo that the NBA and the Los Angeles Lakers gave “complete access” to “Khloe & Lamar,” which debuts Sunday on E! at 10/9c.
Jeff Jenkins, executive producer of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” told the audience at the “History of Bunim/Murray Productions” panel that cameras will “go into the locker room [and] to practice.”
“The NBA gave us complete access, not just the NBA but the Lakers were so supportive, [coach] Phil [Jackson], and all of his team mates. You’ll see everybody on this show. It’s awesome,” said the family’s matriarch Kris Jenner.
Preview The Premiere Of “Khloe & Lamar”:
“What’s remarkable is that Lamar is in the middle of his NBA season,” she added. “He’s a two-time championship Lakers season player. And no one has ever seen the personal side of Lamar. He’s having the best year of his life in basketball while shooting this show simultaneously, which is no easy task. I’m so proud of both of them. They are working really hard.”
Doubly hard as the family is also shooting season 6 of the flagship show, “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” “I shot this morning,” said Bruce Jenner. “I really like when we’re in shooting season. Why? Because everybody’s together. We have a three month period when we’re shooting the show everyone really cuts down their schedule. It’s great. I see more of them. Once it’s over, everybody’s running off and trying to get their jobs done and working. So I don’t see quite as much of them.”
So, why is America still obsessed with all things Kardashian? “The bottom line is it’s a show about a strong, tight family,” said Bruce.
