CMT has canceled its first original scripted series, “Working Class,” after its initial 12-episode order.

The sitcom, which starred Ed Asner and Melissa Peterman, wrapped filming an April 1.

“Unfortunately, CMT will not be pursuing a second season of Working Class. We’re sad to see it go,” read a message on the show’s Facebook page.

Peterman starred as a twice-divorced mother of three who moves to the burbs, where she worked at an upscale grocery store with grumpy co-worker Ed Asner.

Peterman will still be seen on CMT in her stint as host of “Singing Bee,” which premieres its fourth season on Friday.
