As the fame of this year’s “American Idol” contestants increases, so do their rap sheets.

Weeks after it was revealed that Top Seven finalist Stefano Langone was arrested for a DUI in 2010, it turns out Jacob Lusk also had a brush with the law.

According to TMZ, back in February of 2009 Jacob was cited for riding on an L.A. metro train without purchasing a ticket. He didn’t attend his court hearing, and an arrest warrant was issued.

Then, back in November 2010 – the day after he received his golden ticket to Hollywood Week – Jacob was pulled over at a routine traffic stop, and promptly arrested.

Jacob pled no contest to the free-riding charge and was sentenced to 3 days in jail and 2 years probation.

After serving the 3 days – where he apparently serenaded 170 inmates – he returned to court and begged the judge to terminate his probation. (“Idol” doesn’t allow contestants on probation to compete.) The judge granted his wish, and off to the show he went – to contend with three very different judges.

So maybe these were the hard times he referenced as inspiration for Wednesday’s performance of “Bridge Over Troubled Water”?
