Gwyneth Paltrow appeared on “Chelsea Lately” Tuesday to discuss her New York Times best-selling cookbook, but wound up dishing some family dirt instead.
Turns out, Paltrow’s grandmother was “mean as hell,” she said.
Handler brought up that they both had German grandmothers they called “Mutti,” which means “mom” in German.
“My Mutti was a real b-tch,” Handler said.
And then Paltrow called her nana a name you’re not supposed to call any woman, let alone your grandmother (jump to 4:23):
“My grandmother was a real c—,” Paltrow said.
“She just hated my guts, basically. She tried to poison my mother against me,” Paltrow said, adding that it didn’t work.
Coincidentally, Paltrow appeared on Tuesday’s episode of “Glee” as well and was featured in a scene lecturing kids about the power of hurtful words. Guess the lesson didn’t take.
