Belt out a high note: Olivia Ward is your newly crowned “Biggest Loser” and winner of the $250K prize (never mind the taxes for now)! Weighing in at 132 lbs., the professional opera singer lost 129 lbs. and managed to beat out her equally skinny younger sister, Hannah Curlee.
On last night’s live finale, the show celebrated another of many historical moments this season when Olivia, Hannah, and Irene Alvarado became the first all-female finalists. Moreover, Deni Hill, the 59-year-old mother of eight, continued the estrogen reign, winning the $100K at-home prize.
Meet “Loser’s” New Trainer:
Unfortunately, amid all the celebration, the show had to bid a bittersweet farewell to trainer Jillian Michaels, who after 10 seasons, never lost her passion (or her raging vocal chords).
“It’s been such an honor obviously, being a part of the ‘Biggest Loser,’“ she told the live audience. “I’m eternally grateful. I’m excited for new chapters to take the platform I’ve been given to the next level.” Needless to say, she received a standing ovation.
So who’s to take her place? Tennis hottie Anna Kournikova. (Yes, it’s true—stop scratching your heads.) Looks like “Loser” is looking to amp up its star power and sex appeal, although we have to say that there was a noticeable shock in the audience’s faces when the emaciated Russian ambled out onto the stage. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see if next season’s contestants will warm up to Enrique Iglesias’ girlfriend.
Although there were some incredible transformations among all of the reunited contestants, sadly, the rogue Olympian warrior Rulon Gardner was noticeably missing from the group and was not acknowledged on last night’s show. We just hope he was too busy training for another gold medal—not stuffing his face with salsa and chips.
