She didn’t cry.
But Paris Hilton reportedly erupted backstage last Thursday after being grilled by Barbara Walters on “The View.” The tall blond celebrity and her mother, Kathy, appeared on the daytime talk show to promote her new Oxygen series, “The World According to Paris Hilton.”
Hilton seemed to take a defensive position from the start when ladies asked how much of her reality show was staged. Even Elisabeth Hasselbeck‘s attempt to right the mood by saying she might as well videotape her life since she was being followed anyway elicited only an icy shrug from Hilton.
Whoopi Goldberg followed with a tough question. Then Walters took her turn, describing the show as having a “fairly frivolous point of view” and taking exception to Paris putting down her court-ordered community service. Walters didn’t stop there. We won’t spoil the exchange. It is truly real and revealing reality TV. Take a look:

According to the NY Post’s Page Six, “Hilton was so distraught after being thrown tough questions by “View” co-host Barbara Walters on Wednesday that she screamed at a producer backstage. Afterward and off-camera, both Paris and her father, Rick, berated a “View” producer, upset at the tone of the interview. A rep for the show confirmed the incident. Hilton’s rep had no comment.”
