ABC News announced Wednesday that Diane Sawyer has landed an exclusive interview with Jaycee Lee Dugard, the California woman who was kidnapped at age 11 and held captive for nearly two decades.
While held against her will for 18 years, Jaycee was abused and gave birth to two daughters. Remarkably, she was discovered at age 29 and she and the girls were freed. The couple who kidnapped Jaycee in 1991 were sentenced to prison last week. Phillip Garrido, 60, and his wife, Nancy, 55, were sentenced to life in prison.
During the exclusive interview scheduled to air some time in July, Dugard will be asked about “the extraordinary and heartbreaking story of her captivity and her reunion with her family,” according to a press release.
She’ll also discuss her soon-to-be-released memoir, A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard,” which is due out July 12.
