And he’s the “Boss” of the new Starz original series and this fall, everyone will know it. Because ruthless Mayor Tom Kane just might make everyone forget about lovable Dr. Frasier Crane, as Grammer takes on a darker role than we’re used to seeing him in.
As we entertain visions of corruption and cover-ups, here’s how Starz’s describes the upcoming series: “Ruthless politician Mayor Tom Kane (Grammer) sits like a spider at the center of Chicago’s web of power. But underneath it all, Kane hides a crushing secret. His trusted advisors Kitty O’Neill (Roberston) and Ezra Stone (Donovan) know better than to ask questions. Kane’s wife Meredith (Nielsen) knows nothing. Only Emma (Hannah Ware), Kane’s estranged daughter, has a chance of uncovering the truth. This is going to be the toughest term yet for the Boss.”
AOL TV scooped up the exclusive deets on the show’s premiere date: “Boss” will debut on Starz Friday, Oct. 21 at 10/9c.
The pilot episode was directed by film director Gus Van Sant and the supporting cast includes Martin Donovan (“Weeds,” “Ghost Whisperer”), Kathleen Roberston of “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Gladiator’s” Connie Nielsen.
