Jealousy Among ‘The Voice’ Judges? You Bet – But Not What You Think

Is there jealousy among ‘The Voice‘ judges? You bet. But Christina Aguilera isn’t the source, as rumored.

Poor Christina. The diva can’t escape gossip that she’s causing trouble backstage on NBC’s hit singing competition. First, it was rumored that she and fellow judge Adam Levine were at each others throats, like Simon and Paula, except their bickering was said to be real.

Not only was that story vehemently denied, it was followed by news that Levine and Aguilera were releasing a song together on next Tuesday’s show.

But then reports surfaced that Aguilera’s salary was far higher than her male counterparts, some $225,000 per episode compared to Cee Lo Green and the others $75,000 per episode.

And now come stories in both the New York Post’s Page Six column and gossip site Perez Hilton that Aguliera’s salary and entourage are a source of tumult on the set of the hit series.

“Sources tell Page Six fellow judges Levine and Blake Shelton have formed an alliance against Aguilera, whose much bigger paycheck, attention-stealing diva stunts and doting makeup team have rubbed the guys the wrong way,” reported the NY Post.

Do you believe this?

Should you believe this?

Let’s just say that although each of the judges wear t-shirts proclaiming their separate “team,” and even though they are, in theory, competing against each other, everyone has flatly denied talk of tension and divisiveness. “Absolutely false” is the response Levine’s rep gave Page Six about the supposed rift between him and Aguiler. Her folks refused to even comment.

But there is real jealousy among the judges – and it’s in the open.

The other day Levine went on record as envying Green. The reason? Earlier in the week, Cee Lo got to jam with Motley Crue on a mash-up of “Don’t Go Away-Forget You”. “Jealous,” Levine tweeted in response to Cee Lo’s tweet thanking the Crue’s Nikki Sixx. “Nikki thanks so much for letting me rock with the crue,” he wrote. “Fan for life bro.”
