‘America’s Got Talent’ Viewership Drops

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap) – On an evening that generally saw big declines across the board, “America’s Got Talent” took the night’s top show honors despite a steep drop in viewership, according to preliminary audience numbers.

“Talent,” on NBC at 9 p.m., was down 22 percent from last week with a 2.8 rating/8 share among adults 18-49, with 11 million total viewers.

Minute to Win It,” shown during the preceding hour was also down versus last week, suffering a 14 percent slide with a 1.2 rating/4 share in the key demographic group and 4.8 million total viewers. The network closed the night with the new reality series “Love in the Wild,” which dropped 11 percent for its lowest-rated telecast this summer with a 1.7 rating/5 share in the 18-49 demographic and 5 million total viewers.

CBS ran repeats throughout the night, with the exception of “Big Brother” at 8 p.m., which was the only original show to see an increase Wednesday night. The episode enjoyed a 4 percent increase over the previous week (and received the second-highest ratings of the night) with a 2.6 share/9 rating in the key audience group and 7.2 million total viewers.

At Fox, “So You Think You Can Dance” was down 25 percent compared to last week, registering a 1.8 rating/6 share in the demographic and 5.4 million total viewers.

ABC’s sole original programing for the evening, “Nightline Primetime” at 10 p.m., dropped 31 percent compared to last week with a 0.9/3 in the demographic and 4.1 million total viewers.
