It certainly has been a tough time for the Obama administration lately. First, there’s that dust-up about the whole debt limit thing. Perhaps just as damaging, though….it’s losing the White House’s only primetime television star. According to TVLine.com, Kal Penn is exiting his job in the Office of Public Engagement after two years in order to take on his first regular TV gig since leaving “House.” He’s apparently set to play a love interest for Cobie Smulders‘ Robin Scherbatsky on CBS’ “How I Met Your Mother.” No word on how many episodes he’ll be in, although TVLine reports that the role will be “recurring.”
