Sons of Anarchy” is one of those cult, rebel shows, which its loyal following feels passionately about – but no one is more passionate about it than its maker, series creator Kurt Sutter.

So when the FX series, which is hailed by many critics as great TV, is repeatedly ignored for Emmy consideration, as it was once again this year, it makes the notoriously outspoken showrunner go bonkers.

This Year’s Emmy Nominations: Snubs and Surprises

Sutter, married to series star Katey Sagal, whose knockout performance was also overlooked again, gave his two cents – plus a lot of profanities – in a Twitter tirade after Thursday’s Emmy nominations were announced. Basically, Sutter bashed the Academy for being a bunch of out-of-touch old timers with no taste.

“Best part of not getting an emmy nod. now i don’t have to pretend i give a s— about the profiteering d-bag academy. … because you know if we were nominated i’d be all humble and blowing smoke up their asses. now i can stay true to myself and just be a d—.”

There was also this jab, er, joke:
“These two academy member walk into a bar. one orders a beer. then they both die because they’re so f—king old.”

Then he added, “If my mom and dad were alive this emmy snub would kill them. that’s not true, they were too old to understand my show. just like the academy.”

He also mocked the Emmys’ reputation for being slow to recognize quality shows:
“FNL gives me hope. maybe S7 of SOA will get nominated — when the guys have all become doctors and lawyers who sing in a f—king choir.”

Sutter’s stream of vitriol was also directed toward “Glee”:
“F— glee. hate those annoying, ‘please accept me for who i am’, singing brats. there, i said it. are you happy?”

He later clarified:
“I love [Glee creator] ryan murphy. he’s always very cool with me. love glee too. just tired of all the [acclaim] piling up at its feet.”

By Friday morning, he retracted the Gleek insult:
“i don’t give a f— about the academy, but i don’t wanna insult ryan or the cast. it’s not my cup of meat, but GLEE is a groovy little show.”

And claimed love, peace and happiness:

“you do know that i’m really okay with no noms right? if i was really upset, i wouldn’t be ranting. i’d be plotting. i’m all about the love.”
