UPDATE: Maria Menounos has signed a new multi-year contract to co-host the entertainment magazine “Extra,” alongside Mario Lopez, ending her 6-year run at “Access Hollywood.” Additionally, Menounos will appear on Dr. Drew’s new CW daytime program, “Lifechangers.”

There could be more shuffling of the decks at NBC.

NBC correspondent Maria Menounos may be on the outs. Her contract is set to expire, and according to The New York Post, NBC wants to “scale back” her role at the network if she decides to renew her contract.

Menounos, who began on NBC Universal’s “Access Hollywood” in 2005, also currently serves as a contributor to other NBC properties such as “Today,” “Nightly News” and “Dateline NBC.”

The network reportedly wants Menounos to keep her “Access” to “Hollywood” on the entertainment news magazine but not at the other news programs. That means a smaller paycheck for Menounos, giving her a reason to consider not renewing. NBC did not comment on this story.
