The CW’s new show “Ringer” is becoming a must-see show for daytime soap fans. The drama stars Sarah Michelle Gellar who was the original Kendall on “All My Children” before she became “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” Another “All My Children” alumnus, Justin Breuning, who will reprise his role as Jamie Martin for several episodes before the show’s September ABC finale, was recently cast as a potential love interest for Siobahn, one of the two twins that Gellar plays. Now Michelle Stafford, who has won multiple Daytime Emmys for playing the wild, impulsive Phyllis on “The Young & the Restless” is set to guest star on the show.
Kristoffer Polaha, who stars as Henry on the series, revealed the scoop at the CW party at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. When asked about notable guest stars on the series, Polaha gushed, “Michelle Stafford. She’s amazing.” The actor did not divulge any details about the character the soap star will be playing. Polaha and Stafford share a history. “She was in the hair and make-up chair today, this morning. I was like, ‘What are you doing here?’ Then we had a little reunion. She worked with my wife on “The Young & the Restless” years ago.
It truly is a small world. Polaha is married to actress Julianne Morris who played Amy on “The Young & the Restless,” a teenager who was in love with Nick (Josh Morrow). Nick went on to repeatedly marry and divorce Stafford’s character, Phyllis.
