Comedy Central has tapped roast veteran Seth MacFarlane to emcee the upcoming roast of Charlie Sheen – and the cracks have already begun. He of Fox’s Animation Domination empire had this to say about the gig: “I’m very excited to work with Comedy Central again on the roast,” MacFarlane said. “Charlie is a true icon with a talent that is strong and pure and concentrated into small crystals which can be smoked or eaten.”
Added the network’s programming head Kent Alterman: “In addition to his sharp wit, Seth is way more suave and sophisticated than we are. We continue to try and soil him.”

This will be the “Family Guy” creator’s third time as roast master. He previously hosted the roast of Donald Trump this past spring and the roast of David Hasselhoff last year.
The roast of Charlie Sheen is set to air Monday, Sept. 19 at 10/9c on Comedy Central – the same night as “Two and a Half Men” premieres with Sheen’s successor, Ashton Kutcher.
