By all accounts, the CBS daytime gabfest “The Talk” has been a solid success. But that doesn’t mean it’s immune to changes. According to Deadline.com, it does not appear regulars Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini will be invited back to the show when the second season premieres September 6. That leaves the show’s creator and co-host Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, and Julie Chen, it’s unofficial emcee, as the only regulars assured of coming back – and earlier Osbourne dropped the mini-bombshell that she wanted to take the first few weeks of the new season off to spend quality time with her peripatetic rock star husband, Ozzy Osbourne, who has spent much of the past year on the road. Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva reported that the show’s producers are “currently mapping out the show’s creative direction for Season 2 before a decision is made about potentially bringing in new co-hosts.” Our guess is they will bring in big-name guest-hosts each week since there’s no shortage of opinionated actresses looking for this type of exposure. The show which drew more than 2 million viewers a day at the end of its current season in July has weathered changes before. Last January it lost original co-host Marissa Jaret Winokur and four months later executive producer Brad Bessey also left to develop other projects. Per her posts on Twitter, Peete appeared to be traveling with her family and in good spirits. “It’s magic monday,” she wrote. “what magical is going to happen today?”
