Papa Jon Gosselin says he is “very relieved” that the show is finally coming to an end after eight seasons and his kids will be away from the cameras.
“I hope they can have more private family moments,” Gosselin tells Radar. “I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future.”
“Contracts have to end at some point,” he added. “I think everything had run its course and it was time to come to an end anyways.”
“Kate Plus 8” gets Canceled:
As for his ex-wife, she isn’t crying any tears (publicly anyway) over the end of the show either. Kate reacted to the news by sharing her thoughts on Twitter in a stream of messages that included six exclamation points, just to let you know how excited she is about the future.
“We’ve had a great run! Six years of whirlwind funfilled adventures thanks to TLC and our many many supportive &diehard fans! While it is very sad for me and the kids (there were many tears at the breakfast table this morning!), we are looking forward with great anticipation to our bright future! As is very typical for me, I am choosing to see the positive in this situation and I am excited to consider the many more invigorating opportunities that may come my way! I poured my entire self in2 last 6 yrs of ‘Kate+8’ & I can’t wait2have the chance2challenge myself again w future endeavors! In the meanX,I hope 2have more time4motivational speaking, book writing &other fun work opportunities that come my way… And maybe even some dating??!! We wish our fans well. And remember, this is not ‘goodbye’.I prefer to say ‘See you around!’ Xoxo”
She kept up the enthusiasm with another post this morning:
“Good morning! It’s a new day! Despite r challenges,we must forge ahead putting r best foot forward! It’s all about perspective!!! Hav a good 1!”
So what’s next for lightening rod Kate? She plans to possibly pursue motivational speaking, write another book, and any “other fun work opportunities that come my way,” she says.
