UPDATE: Tattoo artist Kat Von D claims her reality show “LA Ink” wasn’t canceled – she left.

“I love how me deciding to not continue doing LA Ink, turns into being “cancelled.” Thanks @TLC. Regardless of everything I remain grateful,” Von D Tweeted following Thursday’s announcement by the network, adding: “Please standby for a more in depth, more honest statement regarding LA Ink.”

In a further statement:

“In an effort to capitalize on my recent breakup, the network has decided to focus their energy on re-editing events that didn’t happen while filming,” Von D tells People. “I have no regrets and am very proud of the original footage. In my opinion, any attempt to compromise the honesty of that would be an insult to my fans and viewers.”

She adds, “As grateful as I am to have been a part of a show like ‘LA Ink,’ I’m ready to end this chapter and want to focus on other projects now.”

It’s another blow for reality star Kat Von D. Just weeks after her broken engagement to Jesse James, her reality show show “LA Ink” has been canceled after four seasons.

“TLC has decided that the current season of ‘LA Ink’ will be its last. The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D’s journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles,” TLC said Thursday in an statement.

29-year-old Kat Von D, whose real name is Katherine von Drachenberg, has had a difficult time of late. Just as the fourth season of her show premiered, which featured the tattoo artist making wedding plans, Von D’s relationship with Sandra Bullock’s ex-husband crumbled. Soon after, she made headlines for storming off the set of “Good Day LA.”

“What can I say? I suck,” Kat wrote on Facebook after the fallout from her relationship with James.

“LA Ink” airs Thursdays at 10/9 c on TLC. The season finale will air September 15.
