There’s a battle brewing on the set of Fox’s highly anticipated fall series “The X Factor” but it isn’t over money, talent or airtime.
It’s over dressing rooms. And none of the ladies in the cast are involved!
Apparently Simon Cowell and new judge L.A. Reid are dueling over trailer demands. That’s the claim in The New York Post, which reports that Cowell wants two trailers on the show’s lot, one for himself and one for guests. Reid, who reportedly joked no “ugly” people were allowed on his team, is demanding a trailer large enough for him to hold meetings with artists from his music label and to mentor the contestants each week.
Reid’s showing a lot of chutzpah, no? He may be a top dawg in the music industry, but he’s relatively unknown to television audiences, while Simon is, well, Simon … and besides starring as the head judge, he also executive produces the show.
I think we know who will prevail. As The Post’s source points out: “Simon is the boss, so he’ll get what he wants, but L.A. has strong opinions about what he is used to. Nicole [Scherzinger] and Paula [Abdul] are joking that the guys are the real divas.”
