David Arquette might actually be the contestant to fear the most, as many of the Season 13 “Dancing with the Stars” cast said his funny ways and acting chops will likely get viewers dialing in in droves.
But what does he fear himself? Interestingly, fear is not a four letter word he favors. XfinityTV.com was on hand at the live “Dancing with the Stars” cast reveal Monday night in Los Angeles, and we had one-on-one time with all of the season’s contenders – except for Carson Kressley, who was in New York and unable to attend.
When asked what he fears the most, the “Scream” star said, “Um, yeah, I’m not a big fan of fear. I think fear really is the absence of light and I really try to live in a more positive world. But there is a nervousness in just really learning all of the steps and not letting my partner down.”
Here’s what the rest of the cast is fearful of…
Rob Kardashian: “I have zero dance experience so dancing in front of 40 million people is pretty nerve-wracking.”
Kristin Cavallari: “Dancing in front of a live audience. I get really nervous when it’s live TV. That’s going to be my biggest obstacle: calming my nerves.”
Elisabetta Canalis: “The Jive. It’s beautiful to see but it’s complicated. Not because I don’t like it, but it’s very complicated.”
Nancy Grace: “I just hope that I don’t fall, that’s my big goal. They didn’t teach dancing in law school.”
Chaz Bono: “Sucking! But the dance I am probably most afraid of is the Quick Step, but I’ve done a little bit of it now. It’s tough but not as bad as I thought.”
J.R. Martinez: “Nancy said hers was falling, I don’t really know if I have one. I have to be honest. I’m pretty confident. I thought I was going to dread the Viennese Waltz, however, it’s my first dance and as I’m getting the steps down, it’s not so bad after all. But, now the new terrifying dance for me is the Jive. It’s a marathon.”
Ricki Lake: “I’m in fear of getting knocked out first. No one wants to be voted off. I want to make my partner proud. I have the greatest partner. You might agree.”
Ron Artest: “I think it’s going to be fun. I haven’t thought about fear until you asked me. You just made me scared. But the dances are so hard. Oh, man. It is so not easy.”
Chynna Phillips: “This dance floor would be a big intimidation factor. I mean, it looks really small. I’m not sure how it’s going to work.” [Chynna thought the stage the cast announcement was made on, which is “The Price is Right” stage, was the actual “DWTS” stage. When we corrected her, she sighed, “It’s not? I was freaking out! Oh, thank you God!”]
Hope Solo: “Everything – the television, the lights, the cameras, the dancing, every aspect of it makes me a little uncomfortable.”
