If anyone can top last year’s Emmys opener with Jimmy Fallon leading an exciting singing and dancing entrance with the stars of “Glee” and other famous faces, it’s Jane Lynch.
But can – or should – the Emmys open with a “Glee” theme two years in a row? We say, why not? Lynch, who stars as the evil Sue Sylvester on the hit Fox show, says maybe there will be a bit with her cast-mates, but probably not the opening act.
When asked about a potential follow-up to last year’s opener, Lynch said on a press conference call today, “Follow up? No. I think we started from scratch and we didn’t try to follow up anything from last year… As of right now, we are still putting together those pieces and I have pitched a couple of ideas for the ‘Glee’ cast so I bet there will be an appearance.”

Two things she said she won’t do on the Emmys are:
1. “I probably won’t wear a track suit.”
2. “I probably won’t do an elaborate dance number.”
As for the next season of “Glee,” she simply reiterated what executive producer Ryan Murphy‘s been saying all summer: “[We’re] sticking to the storylines of our regular characters because we had a great season last year, but we did kind of go all over the place with guest stars and had a lot of fun with that and we’re kind of honing in on these stories of these kids especially in light of the fact that several will be graduating at the end of the year.”
Lynch also said they have only shot three episodes for the season and so far the winners of “The Glee Project” have not shown up, and nor has a singing number for her character.
The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards air live from Los Angeles on Sunday, September 18 on Fox.
