Savannah Guthrie hit a snag with Lauren Graham on “Today” Friday morning. Apparently Graham doesn’t like to discuss her personal life – in fact, it’s her “least favorite thing ever.” But more so, she doesn’t like opening up because she’s afraid people will “freak out” when they discover in real life she’s dating her “Parenthood” co-star Peter Krause. When Guthrie pointed out that Krause plays her brother on the critically acclaimed series, Graham joked, “Oh my god! What? Look, it’s America. My boyfriend is my brother. You can do anything you want.” Graham further explained that the main reason she doesn’t want to have her relationship brought up is because she’s afraid of the impact it will have on viewers. “The show is so important to me,” she said. “I just don’t want people to think about it too much.”

Graham went on to preview what lies ahead for the Braverman clan when “Parenthood” returns for a third season (Sept. 13, 10/9c).  Although her character Sarah will suffer a mini-meltdown about turning forty, the icing on the cake will be her continued romance with Mark, played by Jason Ritter. Ritter returns following the cancellation of his mystery-thriller “The Event.” “I am responsible for it ending,” Graham quipped of her nefarious plan to get Ritter back. “I was like, who cares about the end of the world? I need a boyfriend.”
