Kate Gosselin isn’t going away quietly.

The reality TV mom talked with Matt Lauer Monday morning on “Today,” where she clearly came off as a woman who’s not about to fade into obscurity, despite the fact that her show is over.

“There is some relief,” Gosselin said adding, there is also sadness “because it’s the end of an era.” She also expressed concern for her, ahem, “devastated” fans, who apparently just won’t know what to do with themselves without their weekly dose of Kate plus her eight kids. For those folks, Kate launched today a new website that will follow the family’s progress from here on out called KatePlusMy8.com.

After a six-year run on reality TV, Gosselin’s show “Kate Plus 8” was canceled last month by TLC and the final episode airs Monday night.

Gosselin is looking for new opportunities to work in television, she says, to give her children “the best opportunities available.” Kate doesn’t see that happening as a single mother of eight in her former profession, which was being a nurse.

There also was the requisite jab at her ex, Jon, when Lauer mentioned that Jon thinks Kate should stay away from the cameras and get back to a normal life. “Jon may be acceptive of mediocre for his kids,” Kate said, but “I want the best for my kids.”

“I’m sure you will see my kids again at some point,” she promised.

The series finale of “Kate Plus 8” airs Monday night at 9/8c on TLC.
