If you’ve ever wondered why so many stars “stoop” to do reality TV, consider the paychecks.

Take crankypants head judge Len Goodman of ABC’s monster hit “Dancing with the Stars”, who just admitted to a British paper that he gets paid too much.

Come again, Len? Yes, the former ballroom pro, who judges both “DWTS” and the British series it’s based on, “Strictly Come Dancing,” says in a new interview with The Telegraph, “I get overpaid. I get [whispers] potloads of money … Too much isn’t it?”

While a proper British gent such as Len never brags, Goodman, 67, reportedly earns $142,000 per series for “Strictly Come Dancing” and nearly $400,000 for judging “Dancing with the Stars.”

It’s unknown how that compares to the salaries of the cohorts who sit to his left (Bruno Tonioli) and his right (Carrie Ann Inaba) on “DWTS” but it has been previously reported that the winner of “Dancing with the Stars” usually waltzes off with a mirror ball trophy and up to $350,000.

The new season of “Dancing with the Stars” kicks off Monday night with a two-hour premiere on ABC.
