Javier Colon had the pipes to become the first winner of “The Voice” and now the singer’s smooth sound has landed him another prime-time gig.
Colon has been cast to portray Ray Charles on NBC’s upcoming period drama “The Playboy Club.”
Colon has signed on to play Ray Charles in an upcoming episode, in which he’ll sing “Let the Good Times Roll,’ ” according to Billboard.
The swingin’ sixties series is casting popular current singers to play music legends of the past. Producers told us last month that they are also looking to cast such icons as Sammy Davis Jr., Sam Cook, Tina Turner and Frank Sinatra.
