This is a Kelluva lot to swallow. Fashion publicist and Bravo star of “Kell on Earth” Kelly Cutrone will be replacing André Leon Talley as next year’s “Top Model” Cycle 18 judge.
“I am a huge fan of ‘America’s Next Top Model‘ and have watched the show for years,” Kelly People. “Having worked in various aspects of the fashion industry over the course of my career, I am excited for this new opportunity and hope to bring a different perspective to the show.”
Executive producer Ken Mok publicly thanked André, who’s currently editor-at-large at Vogue, for his contribution to the show: “We have greatly enjoyed working with André Leon Talley, and he has been an amazing asset to the ‘America’s Next Top Model’ family. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
André responded with similar gratitude. “I had a great ride and will always consider my experience with ‘Top Model’ one of the best moments of my life,” stated the “dreckitude”-labeling 61-year-old, who joined the judging panel in early 2010. “Tyra is an incredible role model, and I learned so much sitting next to her through four cycles.”
With all this kumbaya—and the fact that Miss Banks had begged André for years to be on the show—you gotta wonder: Where the heck is her statement?
