It was an up-and-down night for Ricki Lake on “Dancing with the Stars,” where at once the TV personality was feeling good for earning the first 10s of the season but was also embarrassed about letting her nerves get the best of her.
In the rehearsal footage on Monday night’s show, a super-stressed Ricki declared, “I want to quit!” Good thing she didn’t. Lake topped the leaderboard again with a high score of 29 for an intense Tango performed to the music of “Psycho” on Week 4 of “Dancing,” which was Movie Score Week.
“It was a really hard week, as you saw, which I feel like an idiot saying I would quit. But that did happen,” she told reporters after Monday’s show. “I really did feel that way at that time. And, I’m really, really glad that he got the best performance out of me.”
The threat came as a big surprise to partner Derek Hough, who wasn’t in the studio when the crew filmed Ricki saying that. His reaction? “Really?!” he said. “Yeah, I feel like an idiot,” she said backstage.

Embarrassment aside, the pair couldn’t believe their scores – two 10s and a 9. “I can’t even believe it and two [10s]. It’s crazy. It’s kind of a blur,” added Lake.
But that doesn’t mean she’s hoping for the Encore Dance Tuesday night, which most think will happen. “We are? No! No, no, no, no. I don’t think we are. Oh my God. I just want to put it to bed. Well, I would be honored…,” she said.
