NBC is taking sides with “Harry’s Law.”

The Kathy Bates legal drama has been struggling in the ratings in its second season, dropping so dismally low (a 1.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demo) this fall that it’s in cancellation territory.

But the network just granted the show a reprieve, of sorts, by giving the series and creator David E. Kelley a vote of confidence and ordering an additional six scripts to be produced this season, according to Deadline.

One of the disadvantages “Harry’s Law” has faced in Season 2 is a new time slot, Wednesdays at 9/8c, where it faces off against such high-profile shows as “The X Factor” and “Modern Family.”

Perhaps NBC is considering a move and the extra episode order allows a little breathing room for a series that showed promise when it launched back in midseason.
