Howard Stern on “America’s Got Talent”? It could happen now that long-time judge Piers Morgan has announced his exit from the NBC summer series.

Reports of negotiations with Stern began to circulate late Thursday afternoon emanating from the Wall Street Journal/News Corp. news service known as Newscore.

According to the story, unnamed sources described as “people close to the situation” said Stern and/or his representatives are in negotiations for a spot at the “AGT” judging table that could earn him a cool $15 million a season.

He would continue to host his lucrative morning radio show on Sirius XM, the story said.

Will it happen? Well, a year or two back, Stern was seriously rumored to be angling for a spot on “American Idol” when that talent show had a few openings on the judges’ panel that were eventually filled by Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.

If this new Stern scenario comes true, he’ll join another Howard – Howie Mandel – and Sharon Osbourne on “America’s Got Talent” next summer.
