If the extreme savings and organized hoarding that goes on during TLC’s “Extreme Couponing” hasn’t gotten your competitive juices flowing, you’re in luck: TLC has ordered a new version of the show that pits the most extreme of the extreme couponers against each other.
It’s called “Extreme Couponing All-Stars,” according to EW, and will feature 12 of the parent show’s best savers squaring off against each other, with a 30-minute limit and a bunch of other ground rules: no full-price items allowed, the cart before coupons should be worth at least $500, and a few other rules. The couponer with the highest percentage of savings wins. The most important rule, for those of you who are getting queasy at this display of excess consumerism is that each contestants’ haul will be donated, so they can’t use the show to contribute to their survivalist-style stockpiles back home.
The save-a-lympics start on December 27 at 10 pm Eastern.
EW has more details and a preview video. Prepare to be excited or nauseous, depending on your point of view.
