Joy Behar is set to give up her night job and end her run as both a daytime staple and primetime star. In spite of being the namesake of the second highest-rated show on HLN, Joy Behar will soon part ways with the channel, according to a report on

Behar, who is in the final year of her contract and began “The Joy Behar Show” in 1999, will leave the series at the end of the year and will begin exploring new opportunities on television, the report said. Behar will, however, continue her role as a co-host on ABC’s “The View.”

Behar, of course, began her career as a stand-up comedian and radio talk show host before landing her big break with the debut of “The View” in 1997. Off the small screen, she recently had a role in the 2011 movie “Hall Pass” and is set to voice one of the characters in the third Ice Age animated movie, “Ice Age: Continental Drift.”
