Betty White is turning 90 in January, and NBC is so excited about it that they’re throwing her a party. Of course, that also means that NBC will tape it and try to sell commercials around it. But it’s the thought that counts, right?
Anyway, according to William Keck of TV Guide, NBC is sending out invites to the soiree, with the intention of taping the event before the end of the year. The goal is to air the celebration around the time of her birthday on January 17.
Will we see Mary Tyler Moore? Tina Fey? Amy Poehler? Ed Asner? The women of “Hot in Cleveland?” Some of the writers of “The Golden Girls,” like Marc Cherry? We’d imagine we’d see all of them and more; NBC could even tie it into their new midseason line-up by bringing in Chelsea Handler and Whitney Cummings. Heck, they may even have to bring in the folks from the soon-to-be-shelved “Community,” considering White’s memorable guest appearance there.
