With Regis Philbin dominating TV for the past week, it was inevitable that “Saturday Night Live” would have its own take on Regis’ retirement from morning TV.

So the venerable NBC sketch show held some hilarious auditions of its own to help Kelly Ripa (Nasim Pedrad) and producer Michael Gelman choose a new co-host for the show now known as “Live with Kelly.”

This sketch — seen Saturday night — required a parade of “SNL” cast members (plus guest-host Jason Segel) to perform spot-on impersonations of nine wide-ranging celebrities, from current stars (Ashton Kutcher and Zooey Deschanel) to at least one who was totally unexpected (Garrison Keillor). We especially loved Fred Armisen as George Lopez.

Elsewhere on the show, from the Creepy Comedy Department came a timely sketch about Thanksgiving — a sketch that combined ideas about family, holiday traditions and kissing, lots and lots of kissing.

See how you like this one titled “Kissing Family Thanksgiving”:

Here’s a sketch that kind of came out of left field. It starred Jason Segel as Andre the Giant, the French-born professional wrestler who was said to be 7’4″ and who died way back in 1993. When watching this brief sketch called “Andre the Giant Gets an Ice Cream,” we wondered: Do younger viewers even know who Andre was?
