NBC Picks Up Puppets-Next-Door Comedy From Henson Studios

Jim Henson Studios is striking while the Muppet iron is hot. With its founder’s creations — now owned by Disney — all over TV and the new “Muppets” movie set to come out this week, the Henson studio will produce a comedy pilot for NBC, writes The Hollywood Reporter.

The show, tentatively titled “The New Neighbors,” will be a single-camera comedy about a family in Palm Springs that’s horrified when a bunch of puppets move in next door.

Sounds like it could either be hilarious or a disaster. But in the hands of the Henson folks, there’s a pretty good chance that it’ll be closer to the former.
