Earlier this month, Wendy Williams wondered whether Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King’s friendship was on the rocks due to Gayle’s departure from OWN for a new gig co-hosting CBS’s “Early Show.” On today’s “Wendy Williams Show,” Williams received an answer to that question in the form of a letter from Oprah. Williams read a copy of the note (the original is apparently locked “in the vault”) to her audience, which clarified that there is no rift between the BFFs. “There is only happiness for Gayle and this wonderful opportunity,” the letter stated. Wendy remarked that the letter was signed, “Love Oprah,” and added her own post script: “Stay black.”(The “stay black” comment was in reference to an earlier video she shared of Alec Baldwin in New York.) Below, Williams riffs on Kourtney Kardashian’s pregnancy, Usher’s custody battle and Baldwin’s car troubles. The Oprah letter reading begins at the 5:30 mark.
