Actress Hilary Swank went on “The Tonight Show” apparently to try and undo some of the damage her public image sustained when she appeared at a birthday party for the President of Chechnya in October.

According to, Swank fired her manager and “most” of her agents, and then parted company with her p.r. team after she made the paid appearance on Oct. 5 with Chechnyan President Ramzan Kadyrov in the country’s capital of Grozny.

Afterwards, she was widely criticized in the Hollywood community because the Kadyrov regime has apparently been the subject of many complaints from human rights groups — a situation Swank says she was unaware of.

“I should know where I’m going!” Swank conceded on “The Tonight Show” Friday night.

You can watch Swank talk about her Chechnya situation in this clip:

Meanwhile, the next guest on “Leno,” Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino from “Jersey Shore,” talked about a few “situations” of his own.

On the statements made by his on-again, off-again friend Snooki that The Sitch has spent all his money and is broke, Sorrentino said that wasn’t true. On the other hand, he had just finished telling Jay how he shipped both his Ferrari and his Lamborghini — two of the world’s most expensive cars — to Miami just so he could have the option of driving them around on a recent visit to the city. So, while he may not be broke (according to him), he’s not exactly thrifty!

Here’s what The Situation had to say about a couple of situations:
