Giuliana Rancic is on the mend after undergoing a successful double mastectomy to treat her breast cancer on Tuesday night.
Giuliana’s husband Bill tells E! News that after a rough night, today his wife is “doing really well.” So well that she’s “already cracking jokes,” he adds.
“The doctors were very pleased with the result,” he says of Guiliana’s four-hour procedure, which also included reconstructive surgery.
“I want to thank all the viewers and fans for their support and prayers,” Giuliana says in her own note to E!. “The tweets and notes have not gone unnoticed. I am very grateful.”
Giuliana first announced her breast cancer diagnosis on the “Today” show in October. Later that month she underwent a double lumpectomy, which did not clear the cancer. In early December, she returned to “Today,” telling Ann Curry she’d be treating the cancer more aggressively with a double mastectomy.
