Co-stars and close pals turned out in droves to shower Kennedy Center honoree Meryl Streep with love affection during last night’s “34th Annual Kennedy Center Awards” broadcast. But for all their talk of Meryl going the extra mile in both friendship and her work, only one star truly went the extra mile for her own tribute: Anne Hathaway. Much to the shock of Streep and the audience, Hathaway performed a full split on stage while serenading the Oscar-winner with the tune “She’s Me Pal.” Fortunately for Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, Kevin Klein and Emily Blunt were there to help her get up.

Other honorees in last night’s ceremony included singer Barbara Cook, singer-songwriter Neil Diamond, Cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and saxaphonist-composer Sonny Rollins.
Below, watch Streep and her “Devil Wears Prada” co-stars Blunt and Hathaway discuss the significance of the Kennedy Center Honors.
