Last night, “How I Met Your Mother” came back from its holiday break with a fairly silly episode, which was probably what fans needed after the heaviness of the pre-holiday episodewhere Robin (Cobie Smulders) found out that she couldn’t have kids.

Oh, there was some touching Eriksen bonding when Marshall (Jason Segel) tailgated with his late dad, and it was sweet to see Lily’s (Alyson Hannigan) dad drop everything to be with her. But the real revelation of the episode was that Puzzles The Bar finally came into reality.

Ted (Josh Radnor) and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) had hatched this plan a couple of years ago, but it finally came into reality on New Year’s Eve, when MacLaren’s bouncer Doug (Will Sasso) kept raising the entry prices and forcing everyone to wear the wet NYE hats he made. Somehow, the boys quickly cook up a banner for the bar that says “Est. 2012” (which is odd, because it’s technically still 2011), complete with a “Cheers”-esque logo. They also come up with a theme song that is more than a little “Cheersian”:

If you notice on the sign that the boys made up, there’s a web address, PuzzlesTheBar.com. Well, the folks at “HIMYM” never give us a website address and not populate it with some funny stuff, and the Puzzles web site is no exception. It illustrates the opposing themes that was the owners’ “shared vision”: Ted’s desire to talk about his usual pseudo-intellectual pursuits, and Barney’s desire to get laid. An example from the mission statement: “At Puzzles, the beer is cheap but the banter is rich, and there’s even a place to bang.”

Check out the Menu and the calendar, where the dual themes continue. Hint: Barney’s contributions are in green (and are much, much dirtier than Ted’s).
